To all,

Having been one who is has been "lurking" out here for a little while, now
would seem to an apposite time to speak up. Regarding features on a "dream"
OM, I would like to consider the following:

Built in autowinder
Provision for auto-bracketing
Aperture values visible in viewfinder (This may be impossible as discussed in
some old threads)
High-eyepoint finder
Shutter speeds in 1/2 stop or 1/3 stop increments
True Mirror lock-up
Focus confirmation

Having proposed all that, I am really quite happy with my 4 and 4ti, and
appreciate the wonderful metering system more and more with each outing. I
really don't need AF, since I concentrate on landscape and nature photography
where AF is really not necessary (I don't photograph wildlife much), however,
AF confirmation would be a nice compromise.

What I think would really bring people back to the OM system, in addition to a
new camera body (at a price point a little lower than the 4ti), is some
updated lenses, especially in the telephoto/zoom range. I think Olympus is
the only 35mm slr manufacturer that does not offer a 80-200/2.8, or a 100-300
pro quality lens. Fill in these holes, update some existing lens designs,
and OM becomes a complete, modern system again.

Just my $.02

All the best and Happy New Year,
