My 35/2.8 is also about 20 years old, as it came with my Dad's old
OM-2. I have always found it a bit soft also, but when I also had a
24/2.8 I rarely used the 35, so I was never really sure about this
feeling.

Can you tell us more about this lens test?

The only test I've done on my 35/2.8 was shooting the rock wall
behind my house, comparing it with a Vivitar 35-70 zoom (at 35),
using the full range of apertures. The Zuiko was clearly superior at
all apertures to the Vivitar. At 2.8, it was still sharper and
had more contrast than the Vivitar did at f/8.
