Can you get a product called Acufine? Back in the early '70s the local
newspaper photographers used to use and recommend it.When I used to buy
it it came with instructions for pushing.I used Tri-X with it.Someone
described it to me as a more powerful D-76(ID-11).The development times
were shorter than D-76.I think it is made in Chicago.I had ok results
with it using the rule of thumb 50% more time for each stop increase in
exposure index. The basic speed setting was about 1200, in those days,
with Tri-X.Your contrast will increase and your shadow detail will
decrease as you push your under exposed film to higher exposure
indexes. This is useful in low contrast light sometimes.Zone system users
underexpose and extend development to get negs with increased
contrast. The apparent speed difference is just a bonus with them.T-Max
3200 works well but it is grainy. You will get more shadow detail with
T-Max 3200 and T-Max developer than with a slower film.Have fun!
