I've tried to stay out of this one because it seems like a lost cause, but:
Any new OM is a cult camera. We're all cultists here... Therefore, the only
way Olympus can expect to make money at it is to price it accordingly.
IMHO, Leica and most Contax SLRs fit into this category as well. Folks who
need real everday working tools (I know there are plenty of exceptions) do
not generally use these cameras.
Therefore Oly will need to make a gorgeously constructed and finished
manual focus machine, albeit with the absloute latest in electronics.
Since Oly already has a history of producing cult cameras (O-Product,
leather Stylii, even the current OM3Ti, and the 35-80 2.8, etc.) perhaps
they can be persuaded. Bit personally, I think they will have to get a
_minimum_ of $1500, and probably $2000.

Only if it's like a Contax AX. It's almost inconceivable that Oly would
produce a full line of new AF lenses from 8mm to 1000mm.
