I looked into this same camera...
you know,it's a question of perception
if you've seen the output from a D-220L (which has been reviewed and
recognized as one of the best digcams in this price range) and *your*
printer and are satisfied--sounds like you've got a winner.
my mother-in-law (an Oly user from the 70's--how I coveted her 50mm
macro!-- and once a serious film class type) is buggy (we have a more
colorful bug related term here in California but for the sake of those
who've not been hardened to such brutish vulgarities I'll let it go) over
her Casio digital camera. The Casio's images (even on a monitor) are, IMHO,
horrific. Downright obscene on an $800 HP color inkjet! think pictures not
photographs.
my 2¢:
you'll see far superior results and stay under the D-220L budget with any
of the current crop of $150 30 bit scanners and the cheapest OLY
point-and-shoot 35mm film camera. Even with cheapo fuji 3 packs ($6 for 72
exp asa 100) and $2.99 3" processing you'll end up with fine scans.
