I have recently (measured in film spools), bought one of these. I regret
that I cannot compare it to other macros, Oly or non-Oly(Tut Tut), but I am
prepared to say that it is very, very sharp in the macro range. I also have
a 100/F2 which focus quite close and did one test, by putting both on
bellows and cranking the bellows in or out to equalise the magnification.
Not entirely fair on the 100/F2 I know, but the 80/F4 1:1 was clearly
sharper, but the 100/F2 had lovely colour.

Macro lens choice should also be governed by the kind of pictures you take.
Carrying a bellows and cables around is not very practical, especially in
rugged terrain or crummy weather. The 65-115 is a great idea and I would
like to get one sometime to use with the 80/F4 1:1. For lighter travelling,
the 50/3.5, 90/2 and 50/2 would all be brilliant and perform well, based in
order of (magazine review) reputations.
