"Any one undinged a filter ring on a zuiko?. I've got a 28 f2.8 with a ding
in the filter ring. This makes it hard to mount filters. Is there a safe
way to fix this."

Using a small hammer, I tapped mine out with the rounded end of a soft plastic
toothbrush handle--another 28/2.8, by coincidence; could there be an earth
magnet in these things?--about ten years ago without any side effects. The
plastic must be strong enough to push the metal but soft enough to avoid
butchering the threads. Just kept tapping in the tiniest increments until a
49mm filter screwed on smoothly. I read this technique somewhere at the time
but don't recall the source.
