[OM] Zuiko 35-80/2.8 vs. Tamron SP 28-105/2.8?

Has anyone used both of these lenses?  I am looking for a real good medium
zoom, and I like the extended focal length of the Tamron, but I'm concerned
about image quality.  The Tamron's $900, the Zuiko $1100.    

I have a Tamron SP 80-200/2.8, and it's one of the sharpest lenses I have,
but my Tamron 35-80 is just OK in comparison.  All the other stuff I have ,
save a Vivitar S/1 90mm macro, is Zuiko.
