I also like my 35-105 very much, as a second best after the 35-70/3.6.
My experience with the compact 35-70/3.5-4.5 is not so good. I think
the 35-70/4.0 is in third position and the compact in fourth (and
last).

It is the same hood as for the 35-70/4.0, only the lettering on it
differs..
