Gary -- I've seen one of these lenses before. Fifty dollars is a good
price!
It is a catadioptric, or mirror lens. If I remember correctly it does
not
require additional lenses to invert the image. It was designed for a
35mm
camera to be mounted via the T-ring system so any type of 35mm camera
that
has a T-mount ring can be fitted.
It would be useful for those special pictures like a dolphin flying
through
the air in front of a supertanker ship after building up speed riding
the
bow wave. There is a famous poster of such and I've witnessed these
events
with my Celestron telescope. It would also be useful to photograph the
