Hans,
        The 35-85mm Vivitar Zoom lens design is funny in that the Iris and 
f-stop
indicator assembly are mounted with the rear element in an adjustable
group. This group will rotate over time. It is an easy matter to adjust,
but you have to know about it. Mine came that way as well, but I set it up
to read properly, and it is fine. The test prints were very sharp, but I
will know more after the weekend.
