I feel honoured at the length of your reply; so much so, indeed, I
have quit my Compuserve mail programme (because it does not allow more
than 3 lines of e-mail before it hangs up) to launch Netscape and the
realtime e-mail which works for longer messages.

Your adherence to individual, non-MC lenses is indicative of some of
the motives which I suspect underly many of the Oly afficionados on
the list: it is the differentness almost as much as the quality of the
marque which attracts us all (or most?). This is also why so many
different types inhabit the list. I am a bit of a lurker so have
watched for the last 3 weeks - not meant to be sinister or dorkish.

However, I have had shots ruined every so often because I have not
noticed the flare and I therefore take the belt & braces approach.
But I do like the look of lenses with hoods attached - gives it a
precise, pre-war look I guess ;o). come to think of it, I don't even
know which of my few lenses is MC or otherwise.

Regards, Chris.
