All I have read and seen seen agrees with Gary's statement. I have seen
several 28-85mm Vivitars, and they were not S1. However, I understand it is
a good lens. Some lenses are so scarce that their existence is not well
known. I have a Pentax screw mount that falls into this category. It happens
elsewhere as I have a set of cylinder heads for an engine that the
manufacturer does not list as being produced.
