Serious manifacturers match the elements of every lot of lenses they made
(there are smaller differences of optical values among those big blocks of
glass). So assembling a good lens from bad lenses parts may not give the
expected results. Better than nothing, anyway! Or you were referring to
spare parts for your relative?
