This excellent lens was made by Tokina, which later released its own
version -- the Tokina AT-X 90mm F2.5. Both are great pieces of glass
in every respect. There is a separate 1:1 macro adapter for each.

IMHO, the Tokina with its 55mm filter size (vs 58mm for Vivitar) is
a little friendlier to an OM user. Moreover, its min. aperture is 32
(vs only 22 on the Vivitar). OTOH, Vivitar's 1:1 adapter has a very
solid and very handy tripod collar (Tokina's 1:1 has none).

The Tokina lena was only recently discontinued, so some mail-order
houses may have it on clearance sale. My negative opinion on eBay
auctions is well known.

Well, nothing compares to Zuiko!!! (does anyone on Mt. Olympus take
notes? :-)), but the above two, and the Tamron SP 90mm F2.5(!), come
close.

Btw, for those on the prowl for a Zuiko 90/f2, I have spotted one
advertised by the National Camera Exchange (in a Minneapolis, MN
suburb, 1-888-873-1979, or e-mail to: usedcameras@xxxxxxxxxx). Price
is $595 for EXC++. They also have a 20mm F3.5 MC macro, MINT -- for
$250. Free UPS shipping in Cont. US and 90-day warranty are included.
(I'm not associated with these guys).

Cheers,
