My copy of the Olympus Sales Information File says the following about the
S. Zuiko 35-70 F3.5-4.5 lens: "Although the lens has a variable open
aperture value, when it is stopped down to F4.5 or more aperture value
remains constant throughout the zooming range." A photo of the lens points
out a white dot on the aperture ring between F5.6 and F3.5. It says: "White
Dot. This dot indicates the F4.5 position. Stop the lens aperture down past
this point when using the zoom function during spot metering."
