[OM] OM3/OM4 battery drain revisited

Sorry to bring up this item again, but after re-reading the recent
thread about the dreaded battery drain in the OM3 and OM4 (without the
Ti designation, and with the original electronics), I still have one
question left.

Are removing the batteries or replacing the battery chamber cap with an
isolated one the only two options you have to completely stop the
drain, or is setting the shutter speed ring to 'B' (both cameras) or
'manual 60' (on the OM4) also good enough (i.o.w. does this stop or
greatly reduce the drain compared to the normal standby position?)

Just wondered because I would like to have at least one camera quickly
ready for action (and I only have one OM3 and one OM4).
