So that´s why the Russians scrapped the entire Alfa class of subs. They sold
the titanium to Olympus so that they could continue making OM-3Tis and OM-4Tis!
:-)
Since there are several other sub classes today that are built in titanium as
well, the risk of running out of this metal seems remote.
I wonder if the little titanium screw that my dentist used to repair a tooth
the other day belongs to the same shipment? Didn´t I read somewhere that metal
items coming from the Russian military could be radioactive.. :-/
