Um...I guess it helps to do this in an urban setting...I'll give away
another of my secrets to buying cameras really cheap. I go to the nearby
universities and after calling about when the initial photo course is
offered and the dates, I put up a notice at the bulletin board (physical
one, not digital!) that I am interested in buying a camera & lenses, etc,
and leave my number. Often students lose interest in photography after one
course, and they dump the camera(s) for cash. Since "dad" often paid
for it, they aren't too concerned with price. This works best towards the
end of the school year, though Spring Term often imposes financial
"hardships" on students that motivate them to part with unused equipment.
