Mine also works very well with the Zuiko 300/4.5, but when I tried it with
the Sigma 400/5.6 it was complete disaster. I guess the optics just weren't
matched at all.
I don't think any serious birder would try this though, a real spotting
scope is much more recommendable. But when photography and weight
considerations (and money!) seems more important, it's a good substitute.
