Good advice, Ken. I can confirm that the Hg batteries can last a long time,
but should be changed regularly. Not only to keep the light meter properly
calibrated, but also because discharged Hg cells tend to expand, damaging
the battery compartment. Eventually the things can even explode! The explosion
is, as far as I know, not dagerous, but it can be very surprising.
