I don't believe the metal slip-on hood for the 50 1.8, 1.4 and 35 2.8
will fit the 35-105 3.5-4.5 unless you use a step down ring with a 49 mm
filter. I have both the metal hood for the 50 and a hard rubber slip-on hood
marked for the 35-105. The 35-105 takes 55 mm filters so the smaller hood won't
fit.
Did you mean to reference the 35-70 instead? I had a 35-70 3.5-4.5 for a short
time (traded it for the 35-105) and I used the 49mm screw on hood for the 28
2.8., 3.5.

I just bought one of these today from Oly America (price $33). It is
also apparently intended for the 35-105/3.5-4.5.
