Hello Bruce.

I am not too sure about the Nikon-Olympus combination.

I do know that some adapters exist to mount Zuiko lenses on different
brand camera bodies (Minolta!). You would loose the automatic
aperture, but in your case this is of no importance - with Zuiko shift
lenses you would have to do without anyway, even on an Olympus body!

Sometimes these brand X-brand Y adapters are just very thin extension
rings with two different mounts. This is the case if the distance from
lens to focal plane must be made longer. If it has to be made shorter,
some glass will be needed in the adapter too, and that will certainly
have its influence on the image quality. I don't know what situation
would apply in your Olympus to Nikon-adapter, but be careful here!

I realize this answers only part of your question, but I thought I had
to let you know. But in your case, I wouldn't be too concerned about
the availibility og the OM-system. Used bodies will be for sale for
the next few decades. You can still buy now the rather obsolete
Olympus Pen-F bodies (72 frames on one roll of film) and the adapter
to mount the OM shift lens on that!

Good luck,

Frank Van Lindert
