Shawn,

I'd like to honor your offer for that 200mm f/4 Zuiko. If its in as nice a
condition as you say, it indeed is quite a bargin <g>. Please tell me how
you would like to proceed (I send you a money order or check??) Are US
Postal money orders acceptable in Canada????

Thanks in advance
John P

Subject: [OM] OM4T returns! (and advice on lenses)

I picked up my 4T yesterday - the service report says they replaced
the mirror assembly and aligned the focus. They will warranty it for
another 6 months, so I'll have time to confirm it's ok.

Since I was in town, I had a look and found a plethora of Oly lenses
(at least for this area...). Of these, here's what caught my eye:

85 f/2 for $200
55 f/1.2 for $200
200 f/4 for $125
Tokina 35-105 RMC (not AT-X) for $129

The 55 and 200 are mint-, and seem to have very little use, even the
filter ring threads look new. The 85/2 is about 8-9, with a bit of
dust inside rear element, but otherwise no scratches.

I'd love to get both the 55 and 85, but must decide between the two.
On the one hand the 85/2 is an ideal portrait lens, something I will
make good use of. But I also use my 50/1.8 a lot, swapping it between
bodies, so having another one would be nice, especially the 1.2 for
low light work.

The 85 is definitely MC, whereas the 55 is either single, or an early
version of multi coating - it gives mostly yellow with some purple
reflections, similar to my 35 /2.8.

I've heard very little of the 55/1.2 - I know it is an older lens,
but is equal to the 50/1.2 in sharpness, contrast, etc?

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

I'll post the location of these lenses once I decide on them. If
someone is looking for a 200 f/4, it would hard to find a cleaner
example, and the price is a steal. I had one before, and didn't use
it much, so I'll let this one pass.

ps: Prices are CDN $.

Thanks.
