This underexposure in TTL flash is common to the 4 series and cannot be
adjusted out or "fixed". It is a tradeoff for having all the other
electronic features (i.e 8 spot metering).
In some situations, overexposure may show in the finder with the same
results shown on film. It might not be noticeable with print film compared
to slides.
