I read a conflict with Vivitar caused them to pull out. It seems the last of
the S1 Vivitars made by Kiron are gone from the market except for a few on
dealers shelves.

Here is one of the best chances "Mr. Tokina" will get to defend their honor,
and he goes "belly up". Do not pay much attention to test reports on macro
lenses unless they were done at macro distances. Many magazines test them
like any lens, and some of the best macros do poorly at normal distances. I
have never had good results with my 135mm f/4.5 Zuiko at normal distances,
but it is one of my favorite macros. The Vivitar is also considered one of
the very best at macro distances, and I have had good results with mine.
Floating element designs only help somewhat. Another legendary lens in the
macro range is a modern 60mm AF floating element design, and it is not good
at infinity.
