Hello Bob.

You didn't accidentally put NiCad batteries in this flash? Since the
(stupid) design leaves current-limiting to be done by the used
batteries, only alkaline or zinc-carbon batteries can be used. NiCads
allow the current to be too high for the circuitry.

I think the flash is really not worth being repaired, or you must find
a good working one with a crashed housing. I do have such a redundant
thing, and I would take UKP 17 for it.

The TTL function of this flash is indeed limited to use with the shoe
2 on an old type OM2 (not 2N). Maybe you could better try and find a
cheap T-32 or T-20 for your OM2N. I could sell you one for UKP 64
(T32) or UKP 29 (T20).

But I think you can find them locally for these amounts as well.
