I can't believe how many messages on this subject you people have made me
delete (without reading) the past few days. I wasn't testy to begin with, but
I'm getting that way.

We OM system users have a special problem in that we must be on the constant
lookout for needed items in used markets because the manufacturer is not
making more of them, let alone improved versions. So I want to know what is
for sale and where. When a private individual lists items for sale (once!) and
then carries on dealings by e-mail or some other way, who can complain? It is
understood the single message will be the whole of it from that person. I have
purchased a couple of things off the list this way and have been both grateful
for the opportunity and pleased with the gear.

But, darn it, an educational list degenerates into a free advertising mall for
dealers if those in business send a constant stream of blurbs. I'm in Mr.
Kato's camp. If dealers have a decent web site, they can post a short message
something like "See our web site for lens collars," plus the URL in the
signature--AND LET IT GO AT THAT! Let people go to the web site for the sales
pitch and prices.

Geez, now I have become part of the blather. Sorry.
