In discussions with OLY management I get the impression the OM-2000 is just an
effort to keep an affordable SLR out in the field for the multitudes. They seem
to have every intention of keeping the high -end 3Ti and 4Ti going for serious
amateurs and pros. I think they will give more attention to digital and new
point
& shoot cameras. As you may know they are introducing a new P & S camera now
about every 90 days.

The new 70-210 and 35-70 are the first zoom lenses introduced that are
affordable
for most of us. The 35-80 is a masterpiece but only the sturdiest budgets can
afford one. I cannot get anything from them on how long the OM system is planned
to live. Since they are making most of their profit from the medical optics
field, I would think the SLR line will not get much attention. Paul.
