particular crass commercialism doesn't do much for me. PvT doesn't
seem to have any other  use of this list but to sell as many items
off his shelves. Good for him  but it does not belong to this list.

Exactly my thoughts.

So this not being commercial list do not post commercial contents!
To anybody interested enough here is what I say:

Bugger off with the commercial contents and welcome with useful
technical/photographic  information.

This list is not "little internet shopper's guide for Olympus
aficionados" ( although sometimes it is precariously close to
looking like one).  If one wants to go shopping Larry's page is an
excellent starting point.
Maybe the newcomers kit can be created for new subscribers. It would
include all of the excellent OM pages that exist and be
automatically sent with the confirmation of the subscription.
