A roll of my tranny film has just returned with 4 parallel scratches
across the entire length of the film. I have had this problem on and
off, but as I use a couple of bodies I am unsure as to its causes. Would
this be due to dust inside the camera? The pressure plate and other bits
look OK, no obvious damage, although there are faint marks on the part
of the camera that the film runs along straight out of the canister
(does that make sense?)
Does anyone have experience with this? How damaged does the internal
parts of the camera that are in contact with the film have to be before
scratches are made? Will normal bits of dust be capable of scratching
film like this? Might there be any other reasons?
