Hello Robert,

I have had a similar problem. It turned out to be the photo processor. I
had been using the same (expensive) one for a while and often got these sort
of scratches, at the time I suspected the bodies I was using. By chance I
took some films to my local chemist, they processed them perfectly at half
the price of the place I was taking them, and guess what, not a single
scratch on the films!!!

So maybe try loading a cheap file and exposing it. You can then rewind it,
but not all of the way, ie just until you feel it leave the sprockets, then
check this file for any scratches, if there are any scratches then it is
probably you camera. If not then go and kick your film processor in the
butt ....

Stuart

Robert:
What does the spacing of the scratches match in the camera? Does it
match the four "rails" on either side of the shutter that the film rides
against? Perhaps the edges of those have burrs on them.

Cheers,
