I too use a OM-2S for fireworks.  I typically use the fireworks exposure
chart in the Kodak Data book.  When in auto mode, I dial in 1 2/3 or 2 stops
underexposure.

I learned the hard way to always wear a hat and safety glasses when close in
or down wind.  I had a burning ember land on my clothes.  Be prepared to
duck and dodge the big burning chunks.
