If 'buffs' means 'collectors', perhaps. But lens design and optical technology
did make advances after the appearance of the first OM Zuikos. Multicoating
is only one example. The f/1.2 standard lens for instance was redesigned at
least twice, going from 55 to 50 mm, and improved considerably. Others were
top notch designs from the beginning, such as the 100/2.8 and the 85/2.0.
But MC is an improvement even so. Still, I think that old '85 would serve
you well if it is in good shape mechanically (check that no levers are bent,
and that the aperture ring and the focusing helical work smoothly). But do
be conscientious with the lens shade! (Check that this is included.)
