It really depends on how you use the meter and what sort of pictures you
take.  As someone pointed out earlier it is quite possible of getting
perfect metered exposure every time with a linear polariser for certain
types of photography.  This might be the case with your experience, but
for general purpose spot metering the meter can be inaccurate by up to a
stop or so.  If you are getting good results with a linear through your
own techniques then why change?  A circular polariser won't give any
better looking photo's.  If you do get a couple of overexposed shots -
consider the polariser as one possible cause and think about getting
that circular one.  Until then, keep doing what you are doing coz it
obviously works.  Don't ask a centipede how it manages to coordinate the
movement of all 100 legs - you are likely to get him tied up in a knot!
