I can vouch for this. I have been doing Ilfachrome Classic (what
Cibachrome is now called) prints for the last year and a half.
The results are spectacular! Chemistry and paper are expensive
though, at least in New Zealand (about $8 per 8x10). You need a
drum processor too. The filtration is pretty easy once you get
set up. The biggest trouble is exposure. Because it is a one
shot chemistry, it is more difficult to do test strips. It also
take around 12 minutes to do the processing. The latitude of the
paper is very large and I took a while to get used to making
really large changes (one or two stops) to the exposure to get
fairly small changes in print density. If you have done b&w
prints then Ilfachrome should be easy, cleanliness is more
important though, because hairs dust and scratches show up black
on the print (very difficult to touch up). In my opinion if you
want really good prints from your slides, you either have to have
a lot of money to spend on Ilfachrome at a lab or do it your
self.

Compulsory OLY content. I have printed slides taken on my XA
that people can't tell from ones taken with OM lenses. 8x10
prints really show up the good quality of OLY lenses!

Felix

PS: of course I was wrong about the potassium permanganate (KMNO4
I think)
