While lens stacking and reversing rings are relatively cheap, if you are
planning a fair bit of macro work,
how about saving towards an Olympus Auto Bellows as well?

- it will allow you to reverse your your 50 f1.8 easily
- comes with a focussing rail
- has a stop down lever if you can't get the double cable release
- sure it aint compact, but it's not entirely out of the question to for
use in the field.

After you recover from the expense of buying the bellows, you can start
saving for the true Zuiko Macro bellows mount lenses - they should blow
the 50 f1.8 into the weeds as far as macro lens performance goes.
