Greetings!
On a recent job-hunting trip to NYC, I stopped by B & H's new location. The
store was very impressive-large, well organized and outstanding selection.
The staff was generally polite, at least by NYC photo store standards, but
I found many of them uninformed and a little free with other people's money.
Overall it was definitely a positive experience.
I picked up a Beattie screen for my 2N, based on the salesperson's opinion
that it would have only a minor effect on my metering. When I got it home and
did some testing, I found out that our conception's of the term "minor"
varies somewhat-the meter was underexposing by a full 2 stops. That
combined with the fact that he had handled and scratched the screen sent it
on a postage paid trip back to Manhatten the next day.
I expect to place another order with them soon and will probably get a 2-4
screen, which will by unreturnable once I modify the tab :-(
I'll let you know how that turns out.

PS Did anyone else see the blurb about the 35mm ccd in "popular science"?
If desired I will post it. Basically, someone figured out how to fit a storage
system into the space occupied by a film cartridge. Pretty cool (
As I recall, someone mentioned that this was coming a couple of months ago.
