  This is the part I would have loved to photograph! The bats allow the
BBQ'ers to handle them ? Amazing.

  [What IS "fair dinkum" ?]. It was probably around 5 AM, and all I'd had 
was a cup of coffee. Believe me, it is the sort of thing that would have
resulted in therapy had I seen it alone. My host and I just kept glancing
at each other silently as the thing hovered about 75 feet away, our faces
bathed in the orangish light. The thing that blew my mind was that it
looked NOTHING like your classic "saucer". It seemed to detect our
presence, because its pulsating changed as we approached (inside the
truck). The motor did not stall, the radio went crazy, though. Worst of
all, whatever it was, it gave the impression of being alive, in the sense
that you get when observing one-celled beings under a microscope. OM
content ? I would have bracketed that one from A to Z, and shot until I
ran out of film. I remain as puzzled by it as you must be from reading it.
