Dew removal systems as used by astronomy hobyists are good. Home
brew solutions involving lots of resistors wired together and powered by
battery or cigar lighter are good as well (and seriously cheaper). Hand
held 12 VDC hair dryers are readily available (in the USA) that plug into
automotive cigar lighters. These are stocked by many RV outfitters and
mail order operations. Many outdoors, sporting, and hunting enthusiast
catalogs list electric socks. These are powered by a single "D" cell which
lasts for many hours when used intermittently. Place your Oly (<--- see,
obligatory Oly content) inside an electric sock and switch on as required
for a little warming. You can just roll up the sock and stick the lense
into it and not even warm the whole thing if you prefer. In winter (It
will come again!) you can wrap the sock around the camera rather than
putting the camera inside the sock for retaining "quick draw" capability.

Oly Lament:
28 June we set off from San Diego with 2 OM1N and 2 OM2N a zillion lenses,
tripods an' stuff in my Pickup camper (1997 Dodge 1 ton 4X4 dual rear wheel
extended cab with Cummins turbo diesel and automagic transmission) for
Glacier National Park and the Canadian sister site for a three week
expedition/photoshoot. Turned into a 5 day round trip to Salt Lake City
with engine problems neccessitating interstate speeds as low as 30-35 MPH
on hills (Lost Wages, err ah Las Vegas was 109 F). Exhaused the diagnostic
resources of two Dodge dealers and currently have truck in a Cummins shop
who are waiting for Chrysler to supply parts. NOT A PRETTY PICTURE...
