Thanks, John.  It IS a fascinating read and concurs with what I have
heard from some serious photographers before.  I borrowed the John B.
Williams book, "Image Clarity" (referenced in the web site provided
above), several times from my university's library and employ his
technique of 'stressing the tripod' to maximize rigidity and sharpness
with my little Cullman Magic 2 (where I dumped the dinky ballhead
for a much larger one years ago).  Many people can't believe the
quality they can derive from 35mm equipment when perfectionistic
techniques are employed.
