Given that we all hold this to be a non commercial List, I really do need to
take these offline. However, let me just say that one thing that kills us as
users is the high markups dealers have to put on these good buys when they
resell them. It drives our hobby or pro expenses sky high! Taking my
background at researching and combining it with my Zuikoholism which drives me
to the shops, yields good buys that I think users should have a crack at. As
I've said before, there needs to be a happy medium between straight out
altruism (posting ALL the good stuff you see on a regular basis without any
renumeration for expenses) vs. marking up as a dealer good buys to at or near
what we see in Shutterbug. If we want to be altruistic, then lets set up a OM
Commercial List and post all those great buys. Maybe even gather forces to be
able to group buy package deals. But anyone posting these deals on a regular
basis for no reward is setting themself up for exploitation. Said another
way, who is paying the gas to take a side trip to an obscure camera shop when
you know you aren't going to buy anything anyways? At least cover the gas.
