Ah, don't give up on them. Just choose the markings (or estimate the
markings) for the next wider f/stop if you expect to make a bigger than normal
enlargement. For really big enlargements/projection, maybe even choose the
markings two stops larger. All you are doing is accepting a smaller circle of
confusion (blurr) at the limits of your depth of field (i.e., the nearest and
furthest points you need in focus within your subject).
