[OM] Vivitar 285 Opinions

Subject: [OM] Vivitar 285 Opinions

I was digging through the archives
looking for information on the Vivitar
285. Attached are a couple of messages
that I found. I'm curious to see if
there are any other opinions (positive
or negative) and Ken, if you are still
happy with the flash.

I currently have a T32 which I like for
TTL use, but I'm looking for a flash
that will provide greater flexibility
for fill-flash use.

Thanks,

Ralph

I love the Vivitar 285. Fantastic
flash: powerful, agile, not too heavy,
just scairy looking enough to brand you
as a "professional" and extremely
adjustable.

Playing around outside where it is
dangerous? Oh, come on. That's when
the fun really begins. <g>

<snip>

My flash equipment includes a Vivitar
285HP and Vivitar 5200 with Olympus
module (for Shoe 4). I know the 285 is
braindead, but the 5200 works
perfectly with the 2S.
