Well I really don't feel I was much help.  As for best lens buys, what kind of
lens?  Like I said, 50/1.8 and 50/1.4 are your best bets, pricewise. Perhaps
35/2.8 in there as well.

As for body, I guess my vote would be for an OM-2n.  Or perhaps an OM-1n.
Om-2=auto exposure up to many minutes, best of probably any camera in
existence. Simple to use, has compensation dial, can switch to manual if u
want.  Good body in the $200-225 range. Leaves money for 50/1.8  OM-1, one of
the best cameras ever made. Very reliable, simple match-needle meter, mirror
lock-up, completely manual, mechanical shutter can work without batteries. Good
body in $150-200 range. Money left for 50/1.4 or 35/2.8?

Auto = ready for more grab shots.  Manual = full control. Auto = less
guesswork. Manual = more thinking and learning. ...
