[OM] digital Olympus wish list

Damark has refurbished 600Ls for $675 -- a very attractive price. (These
are not always refurbished -- sometimes the product has simply been
repackaged.) I was sorely tempted to buy, but resisted.

I'd love to have a digital camera, and the 600L takes incredible
pictures. (I've seen photos in magazines, and friend has sent me several
via e-mail.) But I have Polaroid cameras and an H-P scanner, and there's
a great one-hour lab at a nearby Costco. At the moment, I don't have
enough need for a digital camera to justify buying one.

But I'd like to _eventually_ have one, and I know what I want. To wit,
an SLR body that takes all my Zuikos and has a full-size (24mmx36mm)
sensor with at least 2000x3000 pixels. Actually, _three_ sensors -- red,
green, and blue.

In other words, I want a digital camera whose images are comparable (if
not necessarily equal) to those produced by conventional photography.
It's within existing technology, but the price would be... I don't want
to think about it.

Anyone out there feel the same way? Anyone out there who is thoroughly
familiar with the development of CCDs, and could make a reasonable
speculation when such a camera might be possible at a "reasonable" price
(under $3000)?
