Hello John,

Actually, Olympus did have a program like this in the mid  80's.   They set up
certain vendors with examples of all the latest and greatest OM equipment,
including the 180, 250 and 350 ED telephotos.    All equipment was available
on a trial basis, or, if you were a pro using OM equipment, as a loaner while
your equipment was being repaired.   

Unfortunately, they abandoned the program around 1990 and liquidated the
equipment at fire-sale prices.   :-(
