Hi Olympus community,
I would like to comment some doubts I have according to OM4Ti
metering system.
1. When I take photos in AUTO mode with flash, the camera will use
OTF light metering in order to cut off flash emission when it´s
needed; but in MANUAL mode, will the camera use OTF?
2. When I use normal OTF flash in AUTO mode, shutter and aperture
are fixed, then exposure compensation can modify flash power. Now
I´ll put an example:
Suppose I want to take a photo with very low ambient light
and I need to choose a low shutter speed 1/15s, but I also will have
to put a f5.6 to capture the whole ambient light. The subject is 1.5
m from the camera and I´ll have to choose f11 to avoid overflashing
(Using slide film)Could I select -2 exposure compensation, in order
to reduce flash emission in MANUAL mode (1/15s, f5.6)?, or is not
possible to use exp-comp dial in MANUAL mode. It´s something similar
to GN-distance, you select a wide aperture but you reduce flash
emission.
3. With daylight, using SuperFP mode in order to take portrait with
short focal lenght (50mm) with wide apertures is nearly impossible
to avoid overflashing with slides; would it be possible to use,
exposure compensation in order to reduce flash emission, like with
normal OTF in AUTO mode?
4. would it be possible to use a Metz MZ-3 flash with a flash light-
meter into my OM4Ti and use exposure compensation to correct a
1 2/3 stop error displayed with the flash lightmeter?

I would be very pleased, if someone could help me with this problem.
Flash photography with daylight is driving me mad.

Best regards,

Dave
