The reason for the slow shutter speed indication in the finder is to ensure
that an X-synchable speed is selected. X-synch is 1/60. Oly recommends 1/30
just to be safe. In any event, the camera will quench the flash output and
close the shutter when sufficient exposure is made. If the shutter speed is
faster than 1/60, then the flash won't fire, although a proper OTF exposure
will be made.
