That was quite a good run down on the Leica slr development.  However your
statement of the size of the SL series is the kindest understatement I have
seen in a while. I had an M3 with MR meter when I first saw the SL. It
looked like King Kong next to the M3 which is about the same size as my
OM4T. I think it must have been the tallest SLR ever made.  As heavy as it
was, it felt a little flimsy to me after being used to the rangefinder.
Even the Nikon F looked squat and purposeful next to it.
